Drug and Alcohol Screening, Evaluation and Testing Services (SET)For Youth and Adults

New Connections offers a range of screening and evaluation services that feature convenient testing, immediate results, counseling, referrals for appropriate follow-up services, and reporting as needed for other parties. These services are available for both youth and adult clients at our conveniently located counseling centers throughout Contra Costa County, in Concord, Pittsburg or Richmond.

Screening and Evaluation Services:
The Drug and Alcohol Evaluation Counselor provides a preliminary diagnosis of an individual's chemical dependency, if appropriate, and recommendations for treatment modalities which may be indicated to address specific needs. This service is often used as a referral or disposition resource by the Courts, Family Services, schools and other third parties.

This Drug and Alcohol Evaluation includes a clinical component, using a standardized psychosocial assessment tool, a drug and alcohol test, and a detailed, written report describing the results.

Testing, Monitoring and Re-Entry Services:
The Drug and Alcohol Testing program is a comprehensive approach to determining whether an individual has a chemical dependency. Because of the extended testing period, it is a more accurate tool to assess suspected problems than a one-time evaluation, and it is often used by employers, families or other concerned parties when other methods are inconclusive.

This Drug and Alcohol testing program includes a comprehensive clinical evaluation and one group counseling session per week for 12 weeks. Random urine drug screening and individual sessions may be included depending on the needs of the client or referring entity. Testing may be extended for additional fees as needed.
