Project Director/Youth Substance Abuse Prevention
The Project Director/Youth Substance Abuse Prevention is responsible for overall supervision and support of grant funded alcohol and other drug prevention efforts in a predominantly Latino and Spanish speaking community in Contra Costa County.
Duties for this position include:
- recruit, coordinate and build the capacity of collaborative, action-based team of diverse stakeholders;
- build capacity of youth, parents and agencies to develop strong, supportive community networks for youth;
- assure grant goals are fully integrated into target community;
- achieve program performance standards;
- consult and facilitate action teams, task forces, committees and residents in the development and on-going implementation of prevention strategies;
- develop and manage all direct clinical and prevention interventions;
- supervise work of consultants, interns and other participants involved in development and implementation of grant programs;
- support professional and personal development of staff and colleagues;
- represent grant to funding agencies, including government, foundations and donors
Required qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Educational Psychology or related field
- 12 months experience in job offered or related such as Educational Psychologist, Special Education Teacher, Project Coordinator
- Academic background or work experience must include: community organizing; group facilitation; interpretation and analysis of public and social policy and needs assessment data.
- Fluent Spanish.
